Please take the time to re-blog, I usually don’t do this but this particular story really hit me in a profound way. Joaquin Luna took his life over the holidays because he was an undocumented immigrant in fear of not having much of future due to the Dream Act not passing through congress. He wanted to be an engineer, but felt even if he was able to raise the money for college finding a job in this particular field would be nearly impossible.   He was accepted to Rice University in Houston as well as Texas A&M…  Joaquin took his life to hopefully create a better future for prior undocumented immigrants who are going to school / college today. The Dream Act states “If they were to complete two years in the military or two years at a four year institution of higher learning, they would obtain temporary residency for a six year period.” Then later be considered a US citizen once the degree is accomplished. Together we can make a difference and show Congress how important US citizenship is and for those undocumented immigrants who have good moral issues and no crime records that a better future awaits them. Please don’t let Joaquin’s death be taken for granted.
